(MENAFN- Arab Times) Minister of Public Works, Electricity and Water Eng Ahmad Al- Jassar has approved payment of annual excellence performance bonuses totaling KD9.5 million for about 13,000 employees, reports Al-Anba daily. Undersecretary Eng Mohammad Bushahari announced the approval and the money will be deposited into the accounts of beneficiaries next week. Meanwhile, an official source has affirmed that the ministry will pay the bonus only to employees who met the conditions set by the Civil Service Commission. He confirmed payment of the bonus before Ramadan; indicating a total of KD4.8 million to 6,500 employees or about 50 percent of the ministry's work force.
Meanwhile, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Public Authority for Telecommunication and Information Technology Eng Salem Al-Authaina said the executive bylaw of the authority was referred to the Cabinet recently and it is expected to be approved soon, reports Al-Anba daily. In a press statement, Al-Authaina disclosed the bylaw was referred to the Cabinet within the period stipulated by the law € five months after the enactment of the law on telecommunications.
On transferring the powers of some concerned institutions to the authority, Al-Authaina explained the law grants the Cabinet a grace period of six more months for this purpose. He said these powers include the issuance of new licenses and radio frequencies, adding that the budget of the authority will be approved within the next six months.
