(MENAFN- The Peninsula) International experts in occupational health and safety will take part in the first Employee Health and Wellbeing Conference in Qatar from October 11 to 13.
The forum is organised by Fleming Gulf, a leading event management company, under the patronage of Supreme Council of Health.
SCH aims, through the forum, to highlight today's health and wellbeing issues and concerns faced by employees in a rapidly growing and fast-paced work environment.
Along with its primary mandate of promoting public health, encouraging healthy lifestyles, providing community-based primary care and ensuring the highest quality care is available, SCH aims to ensure that citizens, residents and the workforce achieve full potential through implementation of sound health and wellbeing initiatives and programmes at the workplace.
Under the theme of 'Global Action Plan: Promote Worker Health € Let the Business Thrive', the forum will draw attention to propagating high-quality healthcare for their major asset € human capital - within the current trend of cost optimisation.
To reduce economic burdens of workplace injuries and illnesses, the forum aims to highlight efficient adoption of a sustainable prevention strategy to counter major occupational health threats and promote sustainable development.
Fleming Gulf has collaborated with Qatar Red Crescent Society as CSR partner whereby part of conference proceeds will go to WEKAYA campaign for preserving worker health and encouraging healthy behaviour.
"We are grateful to Fleming Gulf for the contribution," said Saleh Ali Al Muhanadi, Secretary-General, QRCS.
"This will have a huge impact on the campaign, which aims to increase awareness among single male workers about communicable diseases through training conducted by medical teams."
Aside from support of SCH, the forum has been endorsed by International Commission on Occupational Health; American College of Occupational & Environmental Medicine; Institute of Remote Healthcare; Society of Occupational Medicine; Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, IPIECA and AIHA.
