Expatriate accused of counterfeiting papers to get free services in Qatar

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) A Doha Criminal Court is reviewing the case of an Arab expatriate who counterfeited documents to obtain free Kahramaa services, local Arabic daily Arrayah has reported.

The defendant used to work for a Qatari man, who gave him a few official documents to carry out some commercial work for him as he used to travel a lot outside the country. The process went on for a long time with no problems.

However, when the Qatari man one day went to process some documents in a government department, he discovered that many houses were rented out in his name without his knowledge. Initially, he thought these were used to accommodate employees of his company, but later discovered they were given to outsiders.

The defendant also used the documents of his sponsor to get free water and electricity supply for such houses. Eventually, the sponsor filed a case against the defendant accusing him of fraud and impersonation.
