German unemployment falls to 6.3 per cent in May

(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) German unemployment dipped to 6.3 per cent in May,according to labour office data released Tuesday.

The month-on-month data showed that, on a seasonally adjusted basis,
6,000 fewer people were recorded as jobless, bringing the number of
people out of work to 2.786 million, dpa reported.

The dip to 6.3 per cent marked a downward tick of 0.2 percentage
points from April.

The agency attributed the uptick in people working to the end of the
cold, winter months, with more hiring being conducted in building,
agriculture and restaurant businesses.

Non-seasonally adjusted figures for May showed a dip of 81,000
unemployed from April, for a total of 2.762 million unemployed.
