UNRWA: 1,488 families in Gaza to receive reintegration grant

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said some 1,488 refugee families in Gaza are scheduled to receive a US$500 reintegration grant each.

According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA on Tuesday, the grant is intended to replace household goods lost during the last Israeli war against the Strip, noting that the families will receive the grant either as checks or through local banks.

It also noted that the emergency aid, including a grant dedicated to repairing damaged homes, and reconstruction as well as solutions for temporary housing are top priorities, adding that the agency remains committed to supporting the affected families but will require more funds to resume its cash assistance for housing program.
