UAE- DED confirms its commitment to achieving its strategic goals


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The Department of Economic Development has organised a ceremony to honour 76 employees who have achieved excellence in the 2014 Career Assessment according to the Musanada Career Performance Management programme.

On this occasion, Ali Majid Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Department of Economic Development, affirmed the Department's keenness to achieve the highest levels of excellence and quality in corporate performance, through investing in the efforts and potentials of the distinguished employees, in charge of achieving the Department's strategic goals in a highly efficient manner.

He also stated that 2014 was a challenging year, which made way for the Department's achievements, thanks to the employees' efforts, hard work and determination to achieve strategic goals and ambitious plans.

During the ceremony which took place at the St. Regis Abu Dhabi Hotel, Al Mansoori confirmed the Department's keenness to ensure the employees' apprenticeship and professionalism in carrying out the assigned tasks efficiently and effectively, so as to achieve its vision, mission, and goals, while hailing the achievement made by distinguished employees during the past year. Such achievement reflects the corporate excellence of the Department in fulfilling its vision as an institution focusing on its customers and characterized by its efficiency in enabling and supporting the sustainable economic development of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

He also affirmed that the Department of Economic Development continues working towards achieving excellence in its performance and ability to lead the economic agenda and translate the goals and determinants of the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030, for it believes it has the qualified employees to take responsibility before the Abu Dhabi government and community.

Mohamed Omar Abdullah, Undersecretary of the Department of Economic Development, urged the honorees to continue showing more care and concern, and achieving the highest levels of excellence so as to reach the best functional and leading positions, and serve the community, in order to achieve the leadership's aspirations and confidence in fulfilling its 2030 future vision.

The Department of Economic Development has carried out a number of awareness campaigns on the Career Assessment programme and briefed employees about them. These campaigns include the implementation of the Human Resources' campaign with respect to the employees' performance, which has significantly contributed, through the use of internal communication means, to clarify the programme's goals and importance of interaction, so as to educate the employees on how to identify their career paths and assess their personal achievements and abilities in performing the tasks that were assigned to them.

Around 76 employees won the excellence degree. 43 of these employees belong to the Abu Dhabi Business centre, 12 to the Support Services Sector, 5 to the senior management, 8 to the Planning and Statistics Sector, 2 to the Policy and Legislation Affairs, 3 to the Industrial Development Bureau, 2 to the Competitiveness Office of Abu Dhabi, and one employee to the Institutional Development Department.
