Man Killed Last Week in STA Crash Identified

SPOKANE WASHINGTON – The man killed last week after a collision with an STA bus has been identified as 52-year-old Thomas Robert Dale Samples.

According to the Spokane Police a video shows that Samples drove through a red light before crashing head-on with the bus. Samples was traveling westbound on North Foothills when he went through the red light and hit the bus which was making a left turn from eastbound North Foothills to northbound Crestline.

Samples died at the scene from “lacerations of the heart and aorta due to blunt chest injury.”

The death was ruled a suicide.

The investigation is still ongoing and police are asking any witnesses to the crash to please call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
