(MENAFNEditorial)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The charm tragedy and joy of life in bucolic small-town New England comes to vivid life through humor in colorfully written prose with Housatonic.

April 9 2014 – Denver CO and Housatonic MA – The pastoral setting of Housatonic Mass. serves as inspiration to native son Bob Gray for the newly released memoir that centers around the charming village and the characters who inhabit it. Housatonic is published by Outskirts Press.

Life in a New England village can be both joyful and tragic or ordinary and complicated. Housatonic is such a village providing its residents with a sense of place – a sense of home. The New England Village is an oasis of calm in a region regularly flooded with visitors in search of adventure respite and cultural enlightenment. And Gray a columnist and long-time resident is there to capture all its charms foibles and stories in Housatonic.

The deserted mill on the cover and the rusting water tower which has kept watch over the village for decades illustrate both Housatonic’s transition from past to present and its people who cling to traditions of what was and hope for what may be. Housatonic is a charming collection of personal essays written by one of the town’s long-term residents.  Bob Gray offers a perceptive humorous and loving commentary on village life.

Housatonic is available online in paperback through Outskirts Press at www.outskirtspress.com/bookstore.
