About the Author: Bob Gray has lived in the village of Housatonic for most of his life and has written for publication about the experience over the past four decades. Excepting the occasional controversies of voting for a new school or another fire truck the village has been an oasis of calm in what has become a crowded cultural vacation and second-home destination. He has been published in a number of literary journals including The Berkshire Review upstreet and ORION a nationally syndicated and respected environmental magazine. He has written a column for The Berkshire Record for the last 35 years and earned a Best Serious Column award from the New England Small Newspaper Association.
