Egypt's GASC purchases wheat shipments from Russia, Romania


(MENAFN) The Egyptian General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) announced the buying of 240,000 tons of wheat from both Russia and Romania, a corporate statement said, Arab News reported.

As the world's largest wheat buyer, Egypt purchased 60,000 tons of wheat from Romania, in addition to another 180,000 tons from the Russian Federation, the Vice Chairman of GASC said.

The wheat was purchased at an average price of USD199.28 a ton on a cost-and-freight basis, the official added.
