Jordan gets USD6.59m EU renewable energy fund


(MENAFN) The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan received a finance of about USD6.59 million to help fund 9 renewable energy schemes, according to the Energy Minister, Jordan Times reported.

The sum will be allocated among the projects based on each one's demands and nature of work, the Energy Minister added. The EU has going set the fund so that Jordan will be able to secure its energy needs.

The funds will cover 80-90 per cent of each project's costs, with the remainder covered by the local institute implementing it.
