Suicide attack kills 5 Fajr Libya gunmen in W. Misrata

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) A suicide bombing, claimed by the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), on Sunday killed five militants from Fajr Libya (Libya Dawn) west of Misrata, sources told KUNA.

A car bomber blew himself up at Dafniya checkpoint near the city of Misrata. Six others from Fajr Libya were injured, and many cars and nearby shops were reportedly damaged by the blast.

ISIL's Wilayat Tripoli (Tripoli Province) claimed responsibility for the suicide attack on its Twitter account, posting a photo of the attacker, Abu Waheeb Al-Tunsy.

ISIL has claimed responsibility for some suicide attacks that recently targeted checkpoints around Misrata, the stronghold of Fajr Libya, militias that fight against the interim Libyan government and the elected parliament, and managed to control Tripoli and other towns west of the country last August.
