Coalition Aircraft Raid Houthi Positions in Sana'a


(MENAFN- QNA) Coalition warplanes launched on Sunday violent air raids on Houthi militants and forces loyal to the them in the capital Sanaa.

Yemeni military sources said the air strikes targeted Al-Dailami base near Sana'a airport and Al Nahdain camp which is overlooking the presidential house, adding that they also targeted a special security forces camp in the 70th area which is under the control of Houthi militants.

The sources said the raids targeted as well Houthi militants positions in Al Jarraf neighbourhood and Al Thawra city in northern Sana'a, confirming that strong explosions were heard with dense columns of smoke were seen rising high in air.

The coalition warplanes also raided today Houthi positions in Taiz governorate, south of the capital Sana'a. Local sources in the governorate said coalition aircraft targeted air force camps in Al- Houban, east of the city and the circumference of the historic Cairo Castle killing and wounding a number of militants.

The local sources in Taiz governorate said violent clashes raged between the two sides in areas of Hawdh Al Ashraf, Jebel Jarrah and Kalaba, in the northern and eastern areas of the governorate, adding that the pro-president Abed Rabbu Mansur Hadi Popular Resistance Forces attacked camps and positions of Houthi militants in those areas.

They confirmed that Houthi militants shelled anew residential neighbourhoods in the city centre killing four civilians and injuring fourth others.
