Key allies throw weight behind KSA in hour of crisis


(MENAFN- Arab News) JEDDAH: Pakistan Jordan and Bahrain have condemned Friday's terror attack in Dammam.
Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif termed the bombing 'a cowardly terrorist act' PTV said.
They reiterated Pakistan's support to the Kingdom in fighting terrorism and expressed their condolences to the Saudi leadership people and families of victims.
From Jordan Muhammed Al-Momani minister of state for media affairs and spokesman of the government said: 'Jordan regards the security of Saudi Arabia as an indivisible part of its national security because of the two countries' brotherly geographical national and historical ties.'
Al-Momani said his government was saddened by the loss of innocent Saudi lives and described it as a 'dastardly terrorist act.' He sent the country's condolences to the families of the victims.
Denouncing the unspeakable crime Bahrain's government also sent its condolences to the families of the victims.
'This terrorist act is incompatible with all moral and humanitarian values. It contradicts all monotheistic religions and the teachings of Islam and its values of tolerance' said a statement of the government carried by the BNA. It warned that such 'criminal acts' were aimed at stoking sectarian conflict. It praised Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman for his efforts to combat terrorism in the region and across the world and lauded the Saudi security forces for averting what could have been an even greater tragedy.
It offered to support all measures taken by Saudi Arabia to maintain the country's safety and security which it described as essential to the stability and unity of the Arab and Muslim world.
Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani secretary -general of the GCC called the terrorist attack 'a cowardly act' which contradicts all Islamic and human values.
So-called Islamic State in a statement carried by jihadi accounts on Twitter quickly said the attack was carried out by ... Abu Jandal Al-Jazrawi. It said the bomber managed to 'reach the target despite heavy protection' outside the mosque.
