Qatar- Crackdown on partitioned villas

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha Municipality has clamped down on 89 illegally partitioned villas and apartments in the city so far this year.

The properties caught violating provisions of Regulation No. 4 of 1984 governing building safety had carried out internal and external changes without permission from the municipality.

The campaign was carried out by inspectors from the technical monitoring section of the municipality, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported yesterday.

Inspectors registered 23 other violations in which construction materials were stocked away from sites and wastes were dumped at unauthorised places.

Inspectors discovered maintenance work being carried out on three buildings without permission. The municipality also ordered suspension of work on six under-construction building sites and removed 39 labour camps from family residential areas.
