Sudanese official lauds His Highness Amir speech at OIC meeting

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Sudan's State Minister at Ministry of Foreign Affairs Obeidallah Mohammad Obeidallah has applauded His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's speech at the 42nd Meeting of Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which Kuwait hosted on 27-28 May.

He made his remarks in a statement to KUNA on the sidelines of signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Kuwait-based Arab Planning Institute (API).

His Highness' speech stressed the importance to overcome all major issues and obstacles that are currently taking place in several countries in the region such as terrorism, radicalism, and violence, he said.

Obeidallah added that His Highness the Amir also called for consolidation of all efforts in order to change the negative image that terrorist groups attached to Islam through their brutal acts, and show the world the real meaning of the Islamic religion, which is based on non-violence and tolerance.

Meanwhile, the Sudanese official said that his country seeks to develop its national cadres in order to shoulder their responsibilities in boosting economic development in Sudan, adding that signing a cooperation protocol with API is due to the Kuwaiti-based institute's well-reputable name in the Arab world, particularly in developing human resources.

API is a regional center, based in Kuwait, specialized in developing and promoting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to enhance their role in economic and social development.

The institute provides a list of training, consultation, technical support, and publishing services to elevate the standard of public institutions working in the field of SMEs development as well as ones dealing with entrepreneurship.
