(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) His Highness Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai's book of tweets was launched at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel on Wednesday evening.
The event was attended by dignitaries of Emirati society, and their families. The stage of the Al Safinah Ballroom was festooned with a large blue bird, the Twitter-symbol.
On May 14, Shaikh Mohammed had tweeted, "My number of Twitter followers reached 4 mln today. My total following exceeds 8 mln including Facebook, Instagram and Google+". Also the author of 'Flashes of Thought', the book of tweets - called 'Glimpses of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Tweets' - is touted as having revealed an "authentic style of thinking", and marking out a vision for the future.
The event that was held under the patronage of Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Emirates Airline and Chief Executive of the Emirates Group, and was a part of Rashid Cultural Season 2015, an annual event by the Rashid Centre for the disabled. Paintings were on display at the venue, and the event also featured cultural performances by women and children, and the ubiquitous blue bird.
