Acting Senate president meets U.S. congressional aides delegation


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Acting President of the Senate, Faisal al-Fayez, on Wednesday, held talks with a number of US congressional aides on ways to cement Jordanian-U.S. cooperation in parliamentary affairs in addition to regional developments.

Al-Fayez, a former prime minister, highlighted Jordan's political and socioeconomic reform drive which has been steadily progressing despite regional upheaval. He emphasized that regional turmoil should not hamper efforts to find a just solution to the Palestinian cause and stressed the U.S. important role in reviving peacemaking efforts to bring about an independent and sovereign Palestinian state.

The delegation commended Jordan's tireless efforts to promote peace in the region and said the U.S. is keen to build a special relationship with Jordan at various levels.
