Jordan, Germany discuss energy cooperation


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ibrahim Saif, on Wednesday, discussed investment opportunities in the energy and renewable energy sector with a German trade delegation.

Saif spoke of the importance of enabling the private sector to participate in government projects, according to the Public Private Partnership (PPP) law, stressing the importance of exchanging expertise in renewable energy. He praised the German delegation's interest in developing trade and economic relations with Jordan.

He also stressed the importance of funding feasible government projects, and benefiting from the expertise and technical know-how in establishing modern enterprises and managing them, while valuing the existing cooperation with the German finance institutions such as the KfW Development Bank.

The Chairman of the Committee on Economic Affairs and Energy at the German Bundestag (Parliament), Peter Ramsaue, expressed appreciation for Jordan's efforts in the field of energy diversification, particularly renewable energy in its various forms.

Ramsaue, who is also the head of the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said Jordan could benefit from the new technologies developed by Germany.
