(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Former Republican Senator Rick Santorum, who ran in the 2012 Presidential elections, will announce his candidacy Wednesday for the 2016 race for president, he told ABC News this morning.
Santorum served as senator from 1995 to 2007 and was known has a staunch conservative, especially on social and religious issues.
Santorum fell short of the Republican party's presidential nomination in 2012 to governor Rick Perry. Today, Santorum lags further in polls behind other Republicans hoping to win a party nomination including Governor Scott Walker and Senator Marco Rubio.
His announcement will be made near where he grew up in Pennsylvania.
