(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras al-Khaimah, today reviewed the plans for the Federal National Council election, scheduled for October 3rd.
This came during a meeting with Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Minister of Federal National Council of Affairs, and Chairman of the National Elections Commission, and Hamad Abdul Rahman Al Madfa, Secretary-General for the Supreme Council of the Union in the Ministry of Presidential Affairs.
This FNC elections, which will be the third elections to be held in the country, are part of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan's programme of empowerment revealed in a speech in 2005.
During the meeting, Dr. Gargash listened to comments and guidance from the Ruler of Ras al-Khaimah, and details of the 2015 election programme were reviewed.
Dr. Gargash stressed that the UAE continues to develop its political participation system based on the political leadership's vision to enhance the developmental experience of the country, and update the channels of popular participation.
The meeting comes within the framework of the traditional norms to listen to the observations and directives of Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates and the Crown Princes towards developing and promoting the political process in the country.
