(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Home prices rose on average in 20 cities across the U.S. in March, a reading of the S&P/Case-Shiller home price index showed on Tuesday.
Single-family home prices in March gained 4.1 percent from the previous month, the index showed. This is down slightly from a 4.2 increase in February.
Home prices rose 5 percent year-on-year in March, up from 4.8 percent in February. A separate index measuring 10 major cities showed that home prices gained an annual 4.7 percent year-on-year in March, compared with 5 percent in February.
San Francisco, Denver and Dallas saw the sharpest rise in home prices at 10.3 percent, 10 percent and 9.3 percent respectively.
Home prices have seen year-on-year gains for the last 35 straight months, according to a statement from S&P/Case-Shiller.
