(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius has called for strengthening the international coalition against Daesh, which is reportedly making new advances in Iraq and Syria.
In remarks made to the press in Paris Tuesday, Fabius said: "The international coalition must urgently be strengthened to prevent the mass murder by Daesh in Iraq and Syria."
He also criticized the Iraqi government and said that Baghdad was "not carrying out a policy which is inclusive all groups".
France will hold a conference on June 2 to discuss the international coalition's strategy against Daesh.
The U.S. is leading an international coalition, which includes France, Germany, and Saudi Arabia against Daesh; numerous airstrikes have been carried out against the militant group in Iraq and Syria.
Iraqi forces launched a military operation Tuesday backed by a Shia militia force against Daesh to retake Ramadi city, the capital of the western province of Anbar.
On May 17, Daesh took control of Ramadi, in central Iraq, after overrunning government forces in the area.
On Sunday, U.S. defense chief Ashton Carter said that Iraqi security forces had "no will to fight".
