Turkey's striking Renault workers reject pay deal

(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Workers at the Oyak Renault plant in Bursa on Tuesday rejected the company's offer of improved wages.

The strikers, who downed tools 12 days ago, declined a nine-point proposal that promised no retribution against those on strike as well as pay increases.

The workers' negotiators were met with applause as they entered the factory yard in Bursa, northwest Turkey, an Anadolu Agency correspondent at the scene reported.

The Renault site is a number of auto industry sites hit by industrial action around the car-making region in recent days.
