Kuwait Win Second Place In West Asia Tournament


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Kuwait's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu team won the second place in the West Asia tournament, which concluded in Beirut, Lebanon, Monday, winning six medals including three gold, three silver, and one bronze.

The three gold medals were won by Mohammad Ali, under 94 kg category, Nasser Al-Qattan, under 85 kg category, and Naser Al-Faraj, under 62 kg category.

The team won silver medals through Emad Al-Sumait, under 85 kg, and Abdulrahman Farman, under 77 kg, while the only bronze medal was won by Abdullah Al-Faraj, under 85 kg.

Meanwhile, jiu-jitsuka Mohammad Ali expressed, in a statement to KUNA, his joy for winning the second place and various medals for Kuwait despite the fact Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was new in Kuwait compared to other participating countries.

He also praised his teammates' high spirits that enabled them to achieve positive results, noting that the tournament was highly competitive and saw participation of some of the renowned practitioners in the region.

Ali also valued efforts exerted by the Martial Arts Committee, affiliated with Kuwait Olympic Committee and headed by Sheikh Fahad Talal Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, in supporting all members of the Kuwaiti team.
