Militants Launch Coordinated Attack in Kabul City


(MENAFN- QNA) A group of insurgents launched a coordinated attack in Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan area of Kabul city late on Tuesday night.

Gen. Ayub Salangi said four assailants were killed by the security forces and weapons including assault rifles, grenade launcher, rocket launcher and hand grenades were confiscated by the security forces.

He said there were no casualties incurred to the civilians or security forces.

A security official earlier said the target of the attack was Heetal Plaza hotel and the area was cordoned off by the Crisis Response Unit forces soon after the attack was launched, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).

This is the second time the anti-government armed militants are attacking a guesthouse in Kabul city.

At least fourteen people including four Indians, two Pakistanis, and one citizen from each of the US, Italy and Kazakhstan and Britain were killed in attack on Park Palace Hotel two weeks ago.
