Egyptian leader affirms on strong relations with US


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Egypt's President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi asserted Tuesday on the strong "strategic bilateral relations" between his country and the US.

The remark was made during a meeting between president Al-Sisi and Senior Vice President, and President CEO of Power and Water in General Electric Company (GE) Steve Bolze.

During the meeting, the two discussed with the company's contribution to Egyptian plans to beef up Egypt's national electricity network.

Egypt's presidential spokesman Ambassador Alaa Yosef noted, in a press briefing, Washington's interest in contributing to the overall development process in Egypt.

The Egyptian leader praised GE swift contribution to the overall development process, especially in the energy sector.

For his part, an official from GE said that the company plans to produce 6.2 gigawatts of electricity during the next few months to add to the national electricity network in Egypt, adding that it "is equivalent to 10 percent of electricity production that is currently available."
