Horseshoe Metals has broad copper hits in Western Australia

Horseshoe Metals (ASX:HOR) has intersected multiple broad zones of copper mineralisation from the first two holes drilled at its Horseshoe Lights copper-gold project in Western Australia.

The project is located just 75 kilometres west-northwest of Sandfire Resources’ (ASX:SFR) DeGrussa copper-gold mine.

Assays from the two holes include:

- 24 metres at 1.2% copper from 34 metres including 1 metre at 3.2% copper from 43 metres;
- 15 metres at 1.6% copper from 86 metres including 2 metres at 8.2% copper from 89 metres;
- 12 metres at 2.4% copper from 121 metres including 3 metres at 6.7% copper and 0.3 grams per tonne gold from 127 metres; and
- 32 metres at 1% copper from 90 metres including 6 metres at 2.1% copper from 96 metres.

The company has drilled 6 holes to date and expects to receive further results next week.

The Horseshoe Lights Project includes the old open pit of the Horseshoe Lights copper-gold mine which operated up until 1994 producing over 300000 ounces of gold and 54000 tonnes of contained copper including over 110000 tonnes of Direct Shipping Ore (DSO) which graded between 20-30% copper.
