UAE to participate in International Transport Forum 2015 Summit


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The UAE is to participate in the International Transport Forum 2015 Summit in Leipzig, Germany, from 27th-29th May, 2015.

A delegation from the Federal Authority For Land and Maritime Transport, led by Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Public Works and Chairman of the Authority, will represent the UAE at the summit.

The delegation also includes representatives of Ministry of Public Works, Dubai Maritime City Authority, Abu Dhabi Department of Transport and the Federal Authority For Land and Maritime Transport.

The UAE's participation in the event came as a result of Dr. Al Nuaimi receiving an invitation from the German Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, Alexander Dobrindt.

Al Nuaimi said that the UAE's participation in the summit comes in the light of the national approach aimed to promote the country's stature in the field of land transport which plays a vital role in the UAE's economy, one of the most developed economies across the world. He also said that the country's participation in the event is aimed at benefiting from the discussions and initiatives in the summit.

He said that the event is an exceptional opportunity to develop the work of Transport Ministries, as well as national activity.

The Annual Summit of the International Transport Forum is the unique platform for a global conversation on strategies for transport in the 21st century. Since 2008, the Annual Summit has developed into the leading global get-together of the key players in transport and transport-related sectors, providing a unique platform for high-level exchanges on strategic policy issues. The theme of the 2015 Summit is "Transport, Trade and Tourism".
