(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Clouds brought some respite from the sweltering heat Muscat has been experiencing even as other parts of the country received light to medium showers on Monday. The Met office has said that the city could receive rain in the coming 24 hours.
On Monday there was a hailstorm in Bidbid and a thunderstorm in the Al Hajar Mountains the Directorate General of Meteorology and Air Navigation stated adding that wadis in Fanja were overflowing from heavy rain.
A Met official said 'These rains are a normal phase during this time of the year. Most parts of Oman will witness light to heavy rainfall over the next 36 hours. It had been raining in Musandam Sohar in North Batinah and Bidbid in Dakhliyah since early Monday morning.'
Amerat and Seeb in Muscat governorate are likely to receive the most rainfall he said adding that temperatures will reduce by a few degrees.
Fishermen have been asked to exercise caution as 3m high waves have been forecast.
The sultanate has been experiencing rain since Sunday.
