Malaysia FM to participate in OIC meeting in Kuwait


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwaiti Ambassador to Malaysia Saad Al-Asousi met with chairman of the protocol department in the Malaysian Foreign Ministry to prepare for the 42nd session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to be held in Kuwait.

The two sides discussed the participation of Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs Hanifah Aman in the event, which will focus on fighting terrorism and the current situation in Yemen, Libya, Syria and Palestine, Al-Asousi told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Monday.

The session will also address economic, social, cultural and technological issues, as well as conflicts in the Islamic world, said the Ambassador.

Meanwhile, Al-Asousi noted that the special envoy of the OIC Secretary General to Myanmar Hamid Al-Bar will also be present at the event to discuss the conditions of the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.

The 42nd session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers will be held from 27 to 28 May under the theme "Joint Vision in Promoting Tolerance and Rejecting Terrorism".

The meeting's agenda includes creating strategies to fight terrorism, radicalism and Islamophobia.
