(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Russia and Iran underlined the need for concentrating their efforts on finding political solutions to crises in Syria and Yemen based on inclusive national dialogue, a Russian foreign ministry statement said Monday.
Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian made the remarks after concluding talks with Russian counterpart Mikhail Bogdanov.
The Iranian diplomat mentioned the experience of both countries in ending conflicts in the Middle East, noting that they discussed the latest developments in Syria, Iraq, and other countries in the region.
Bogdanov said that their "consultations lasted for more than four hours," adding "Russia and Iran have close stands on Yemen." Saudi Arabia has recently hosted national dialogue meetings that groups political parties in Yemen with the aim of resuming the political process on the basis of the GCC initiative and its implementation mechanism as well as relevant UN resolutions.
