BCCI yet to take a decision on team coach

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Indian cricket board yesterday said it was yet to take a decision on the support and coaching staff for India's upcoming tour of Bangladesh amid a buzz that former skipper Sourav Ganguly would land a job either as the team's director or coach.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Anurag Thakur said that they were waiting for the nod from some former cricketers for an all-powerful advisory committee to be formed for the overall conduct and development of the team.

Hailing Ganguly as a "great cricketer" who has contributed immensely to Indian cricket, Thakur urged the media to give some time to the board.
"It is worth waiting. Whatever is decided, it will be in the interest of Indian cricket. I know there are lot of media speculations regarding Sourav and the role of coach. Please give us some time to decide. We have selected a team for Bangladesh. We will decide on the support staff soon," said Thakur.

India will play a one-off Test and three One-Day Internationals during their trip to Bangladesh from June 10 to 24.
