Kuwait- Stiffer Punishments For Cell Use In Cars


(MENAFN- Arab Times) The Ministry of Interior is currently studying the recommendation to impose harsher punishments for motorists using handheld mobile phones, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting reliable ministry sources.

According to the sources, reports which have been presented by the General Traffic Department (GTD) show handheld mobile phones are the main cause of traffic accidents, in most cases fatal.

The sources added, senior officials in the ministry have reportedly given importance to these reports and recommended harsher penalties for those who use handheld mobile phones while driving.

The same sources said punishment includes suspension of the driving licence for three months, impoundment of the vehicle for one month and KD 250 fine.
