Jordan's Interior Minister Meets UN Official


(MENAFN- QNA) Jordanian Interior Minister Salmah Hammad met here today with Executive Director of the Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate at the UN, Jean-Paul Laborde, who is currently visiting Jordan.

During the meeting, they discussed counter-terrorism efforts and the latest developments in the region.

Hammad said, ''The prolongation of conflicts witnessed by the neighboring countries and the absence of comprehensive political solutions based on dialogue, will exacerbate terrorism and extremism, that have no particular religion, nationality and race.'' For his part, Laborde expressed the UN's commitment towards Jordan, in terms of supporting it to confront terrorism by promoting the strategy in this regard, and emphasized the world body's recognition of Jordan's role in this sphere.
