(MENAFN- Arab Times) The parliamentary Financial Committee will discuss on Sunday the draft laws regarding the establishment of a national household labor recruitment company, general tenders and promotion of national products. State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammed Al- Abdullah will attend the committee meeting as representative of the government in addressing the General Tenders Bill, while Minister of Finance Anas Al-Saleh will be present on behalf of the government during deliberations on the National Household Labor Recruitment Company Bill. According to sources, both the Parliament and the government are in favor of the National Household Labor Recruitment Company Bill; but it seems the Public Authority for Social Security, whose representatives will be present in the meeting, are not on board. On the General Tenders Bill, sources say there won't be any obstacles as both the government and the committee are in agreement; hence, it shall be presented to the Assembly by the end of this month

On the other hand, the Health Committee approved the proposal to coordinate the efforts of numerous governmental bodies in launching a comprehensive campaign against food companies that add artificial colors and taste enhancers into their products. The governmental bodies include the ministries of commerce, industry, health and municipality, as well as the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR). The proposal stipulates that the committee should consider the supervisory aspect over imported goods in the campaign, in addition to drafting a legislation on acceptable artificial additives and detailed description of products out of respect for consumers. Moreover, the Public Utilities Committee rejected MP Nabeel Al-Fadel's proposal to rotate the Imams by transferring them to other mosques around Kuwait every two years. Al-Fadel explained his proposal aims to expose Imams to different communities while the communities, in turn, are exposed to Imams with various directions and information to share.
Agencies add: MP Dr Abdulhameed Dashti says he will have to approach HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al- Sabah and Minister of Oil Ali Al-Omair in case the oil production at Al-Khafji and Wafra fields is not resumed, reports Al- Anba daily. Meanwhile, Dashti stressed in a press statement that it is the first time in his parliamentary work that voices have been raised against the minister Al-Omair for his decisions regarding the Board of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, which was formed during the tenure of the former minister of oil Hani Hussein. While indicating that he found the inability of the minister in the appointment of boards of the oil companies strange, he said he was surprised by the threat of mass resignation issued by a group of officials in case any changes are made to the KPC board. Dashti explained that such threats should not be used against the minister who is supposed to be supported especially by the government which should give him the complete authority to make necessary changes to the KPC board. Such changes are based on the recommendations presented by a group of experts from all sectors with the aim of restoring the work in KPC to the way it was before Hani Hussein became the minister of oil. Meanwhile, Dashti revealed that the parliament's Human Rights Committee held a meeting recently, on the sidelines of the last parliamentary session, during which it approved the law for establishing a National Office for Human Rights, adding that the report has been referred to the National Assembly.
