Qatar - Pearl diving contest for children concludes


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Al Mena, the traditional pearl diving competition for children aged 10 to 16 years, concluded yesterday at Katara - the Cultural Village. Some 82 Qatari children took part in the competition.

This was the second edition of the competition.

The winning team managed to collect 4,750 oysters.

The teams finishing second and third collected 3,645 and 3,107 oysters, respectively.

The total number of oysters collected by the seven participating teams was 18,870.
