Qatar- Minister attends economic forum in Jordan


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Minister of Economy and Commerce H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al Thani attended World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa in Jordan yesterday.

The event was held under the theme 'Creating a Regional Framework for Prosperity and Peace through Public-Private Cooperation."

On the sidelines, the Minister met Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the forum, and discussed cooperation and Qatar's projects and initiatives. He also met Rafiah Ibrahim, President and Head, Middle East & East Africa, Ericsson, and Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Secretary-General, Emirates Competitiveness Council, who briefed him on their expertise in developing business environment.

Sheikh Ahmed also met a group of Qatari youth taking part in Global Shapers initiative and stressed the ministry's interest in having Qatari youth participate in economic initiatives and decisions that support development efforts.
