Mullumbimby entrepreneur Dr Paul Hannah has become the first member of StartInno’s innovation program to attract an undisclosed investment from Gary Thomas for his artificial intelligence business idea Ezimon. Mr Thomas was invited to participate as part of the judging panel in StartInno’s pitching event Startup Academy Byron Bay hosted with SAE Creative Media Institute where he first saw the Ezimon product among the many pitching teams.
Mr Thomas said “I was really impressed by the quality of innovation and ideas that were presented and after exploring a few of them Ezimon was the one that made most commercial sense to me”. Since pitching in February Ezimon is already helping local businesses remotely monitor the health of their machinery. These businesses include Marvell Street Coffee Brookfarm and the Casino Meat Works. Trials of Ezimon’s system are also in progress with a number of large industrial sites in Queensland.
The use of Ezimon’s ground-breaking artificial intelligence technology means that remote monitoring of machines can now be achieved with ease and at a low cost. Dr Hannah explains “This is invaluable to businesses that cannot afford machinery downtime. They can use Ezimon’s plug-and-play early warning system to conduct preventative maintenance.” he adds “through StartInno’s program I was able to frame my idea and focus on the benefits most important to customers. Then being able to pitch my idea to an audience with people like Gary in the audience gave me a hard deadline to bring all my ideas together”.
