(MENAFN- QNA) Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said that his country calls for preventing arms race in outer space .
In his remarks at the BRICS Academic Forum held here on Friday, Ryabkov affirmed that Russia has proposed a draft treaty on non-deployment of weapons in space.
The United Nations General Assembly passed Russian-proposed resolution banning arms race in outer space in 2014, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement .
