Missing Arafat
(MENAFN- Arab News) This is with reference to the article 'In search of a strategy' by Ramzy Baroud (May 19). It is so sad to note that the Palestinians are still without any strategy. It has been more than six decades since their displacement from their ancestral lands. Unfortunately as aptly pointed out by the writer the Palestinians continue to remain a divided people. The friction between haves and have-nots is apparently at work in the occupied lands due to which a plausible solution to this problem remains elusive. Factional fighting on the other hand is creating further problems. I am not a historian but I believe that as long as Yasser Arafat lived he continued to serve as a bridge between all segments of the Palestinian society. After Arafat Palestinians did not find a leader of his stature.
