Arab League condemns Netanyahu statements on Jerusalem

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Arab League denounced on Thursday Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's remarks about pledging to keep "Jerusalem united and eternal capital of the Jews only." In a press statement, the League called for immediate intervention from the international community, all international organizations in the world, particularly the United Nations and the Quartet to put pressure on Israel and compel it to comply with UN resolutions and adhere to the principles of international laws and international humanitarian laws.

The statement considered that the chances for peace will not remain available eternally, because Israeli arrogance pursued by its government will be one of the main reasons for policy reassessment by the Palestinians and Arabs.

The Arab League described Netanyahu and his new Israeli government's policy to implement a series of projects and actions in occupied Jerusalem city as "irresponsible" that has sparked wide reactions among a the Palestinian, Arab and international fronts.

These fronts, the statement noted have expressed extreme anger and disapproval of the fact that such approach undermines the overall political process and thus will not lead to a comprehensive settlement of the conflict.
