Jordanian, Egyptian leaders discuss regional developments


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Jordanian King Abdullah II and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi tackled in a meeting Thursday ways to boost bilateral cooperation and the latest developments in the region.

The two leaders held a one-on-one meeting followed by plenary talks in which they emphasized the importance of maintaining constant coordination and consultation on all that would serve common interests and Arab issues.

Jordanian King renewed Jordan's firm support to Egypt to achieve further development and prosperity and enhance its role in the region.

President Al-Sisi hailed Jordan's stances and its efforts to hold the World Economic Forum, and provided opportunities for political and economic leaders to discuss regional issues and challenges.
The two leaders underlined the importance of the high-profile international forum in benefitting the economies of the region's countries alleviating challenges such as poverty and unemployment.

The two leaders discussed endeavors to revive peace negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis based on the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions.

The talks also touched on efforts to counter terrorism which threatens regional peace and stability, stressing the need to highlight the true image of Islam and its tolerant and moderate principles.

King Abdullah and President Al-Sisi called for finding political solutions to the crises in Syria, Iraq, Libya, and Yemen.
