Kuwaiti diplomat discusses support for Syria with UN official


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwaiti permanent delegate to the United Nations and international organizations in Geneva Ambassador Jamal Al-Ghunaim said he had held a meeting "of positive results" with UN's special envoy for the Syrian crisis Staffan de Mistura dealing with Kuwait's aid for Syrian people.

The meeting, held in Geneva, discussed Kuwait's humanitarian role in Syria and its hosting of the international donors' conferences for the Syrian people for three years in a row, Al-Ghunaim told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Thursday.

The discussions also tackled with Kuwait's support for the agreements of Geneva I and II conferences on Syria, and the efforts of First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah to implement the accords' articles. The meeting is part of de Mistura's political talks which started early May and were set to conclude in end of June at the UN's headquarters in Geneva, aimed to rally international efforts to execute the decisions of Geneva I
