Ithraa chairman leads Oman delegation at WEF meeting


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Assigned by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said Dr Salim al Ismaily chairman of the Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development (Ithraa) will lead Oman's delegation to the World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa 2015 being held in Jordan from May 21-23.

Prior to his departure Dr Ismaily said that the forum offers the opportunity to discuss important political economic social and technological issues.

He expressed the hope that the forum would come up with ideas to overcome the challenges. Dr Ismaily added that a number of decision makers politicians and representatives of governments will take part in the forum to exchange ideas and views on matters of common concern. 

The three-day forum will be held under the theme 'Creating a Regional Framework for Prosperity and Peace through Public-Private Cooperation'.

The WEF is convening over 800 government business and civil society leaders to support a comprehensive and forward-looking vision for prosperity and peace. The event will provide a high-level public-private coordination platform to respond to shared economic societal and geopolitical imperatives.

The Omani delegation includes: H E Maitha al Mahrooqiyah Undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism; Salayum al Hakamani head of the economic committee of the Majlis A'Shura; Ali al Lawati advisor on learning and research in the Diwan of the Royal Court; Sayyid Sultan al Busaidi chairman of Al Zahra College; Eng Salim al Ghatami head of the economic committee of the State Council; and Dr Mohammed al Araimi director general and editor-in-chief of the Oman News Agency.
