Omani expo in Jeddah gets good response


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The Omani Products Exhibition (OPEX 2015) in Jeddah Saudi Arabia is witnessing a huge turnout of Saudi investors and business owners a press release stated. 

H E Sayyid Dr Ahmed bin Hilal al Busaidi sultanate's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia stated that Jeddah is a major economic and trade hub in Saudi and by holding OPEX here new opportunities will open up for Omani products in the kingdom.

'Statistics show that following the exhibition that was earlier held in Riyadh Omani exports had doubled to the Saudi market. We hope that the event in Jeddah will open up more opportunities for Omani products and thus further boost trade ties between the two countries.'

Eng Basim bin Ali al Nassri director general of marketing and media at the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) and a member of the organising committee said that Saudi investors and business owners have praised the quality of Omani products.

'The positive feedback from visitors is the result of efforts undertaken by Omani businessmen and support provided by the Omani government for local and foreign investors' Eng Nassri said adding 'PEIE is participating in the event to showcase Oman's position as a leading regional centre of manufacturing ICT innovation and entrepreneurship.'

Participants in the event have expressed their satisfaction on the impressive turnout. Sheikh Ali bin Hamed al Hasani chairman of Reem Batteries and Power Appliances underlined the importance of the GCC market and especially the Saudi market. 'This exhibition is a great opportunity to showcase our products like the previous events held in Riyadh Doha and Dubai.'

Abdullah al Balushi executive director at Golden Towel Company said that Saudi is among the biggest markets in GCC and the Arab world.

'These events allow us to seal deals and boost our presence in the region. We are showcasing new high quality products at the event here' Balushi said.

Hilal bin Saif al Hosni director of marketing at Modern Dairy Factory said 'Taking part in such events contributes to showcasing local products abroad as well as helps improving the products in terms of production packaging and distribution.'

Malallah al Hamadani director of marketing at Oman Foodstuff Factory (Al Mudhish) said that the company is always keen to take part in OPEX events which offer plenty of opportunities for businesses.

The four-day exhibition which is taking place at the Jeddah Centre for Forums and Events will conclude on Thursday.
