MENA regions first HR Tech Summit a resounding success with both HR and IT leaders

(MENAFNEditorial) QnA International successfully hosted the HR Tech MENA 2015 Summit at the Taj Towers Dubai on May 13th and 14th. The event, the first ever dedicated platform for HR Technology in the region, welcomed distinguished speakers and experts in talent management, analytics, consulting and IT, who addressed the need for organizations within the region to leverage technology to bring about the Smart HR Evolution in line with the Smart services propagated by the Governments of the region.

Among the participating entities were SAP, Halogen Software, Towers Watson, Deloitte and SABA, who all offered generous insights into the need for regionally tailored technological solutions to support the objective of the HR functions and directly addressed the challenges faced by the attending organizations. Other participants included Arago Consulting, ITS and Kaar technologies who aptly supported the initiative.

The summit consisted of engaging panel discussions, educational case studies and expert keynote sessions on cloud solutions, big data, social media, mobile and HCM systems. Among the top issues discussed was the alignment of HR strategies to the business objectives through the use of technology and incorporating it into the unique work cultures in the region. Emphasis was laid on migrating from the legacy systems and embracing the latest smart technologies for driving business by implementing the right IT platform to facilitate organizational needs.

Popular feedback from attendees resonated that the biggest challenge is in finding the equilibrium between IT and HR in developing a system with people-centric strategic alignment capabilities, while simultaneously being cognizant of the need to balance HR's expectations with the strategy implemented by IT.

"The most important part of the event was getting participants to understand how to use IT for smarter workforce solutions which are suitable for the business culture in the Middle East," said Sidh N.C., the Director of QnA International. "Companies need to incorporate the best possible software solutions and people management strategies to help manage and retain top talents within their organizations," he added. "In terms of further development, such as corporate succession planning and career management, there is a need for HR support functions to be simplified and empowered through technology, and this summit is about exactly that; how to achieve a balance between the two counterparts."

The event drew to a close on Thursday, May 14th, laying a strong foundation for the Smart HR evolution in the MENA region with every attendee gaining valuable insights and implementable takeaways from the two day event.
