(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, today met at the Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi Centre for Gulf Studies with a delegation of Kuwaiti poets.
Welcoming the poets, Sheikh Sultan said it was important that poets are recognised in the Arab world for their talents and creative literary skills.
He also urged the poets in the Arab world to seize the opportunities provided at key cultural forums, such as the Sharjah International Book Fair, to introduce their works to the masses.
Sheikh Sultan praised the role played by Kuwait in developing the educational system in the UAE and in the entire Arabian Gulf by building several schools in the region.
Kuwait's Consul General Dhiyab Farhan Al Rasheedi lauded an initiative by the Sharjah Department of Culture and Information to organise a forum for Kuwaiti poets.
