UAE to chair Arab information ministers council meeting


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The United Arab Emirates will preside over the 64th meeting of the Arab information ministers' council, scheduled for tomorrow at the general secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo.

Director General of the National Media Council Ibrahim Al Abed will head the UAE delegation to the meeting. The delegation will include Juma Al Laim, Director of the Media Contents Department at the Council and Ali Al Shamili, in-charge of the Arab League affairs at the UAE embassy in Cairo.

High on the meeting's agenda is a UAE-proposed topic on the role of media in promoting values of tolerance, combating extremism and building a culture of centrism and acceptance of others' opinions.
