Kuwait- CFA Institute, CFA Society Kuwait Host Mideast Seminars


(MENAFN- Arab Times) CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals, and CFA Society Kuwait, the local society of CFA Institute, hosted the fourth of a series of regional seminars targeting investment and financial professionals based in the Middle East region. The event was attended by more than 40 CFA charter holders and other members of the financial community, and was held in Radisson Blu Hotel. Usman Hayat, CFA, director of Islamic Finance and ESG at CFA Institute and Tomi Nummela, Head of Implementation Support, Principles for Responsible Investment discussed a number of trends and issues relating to Sustainability in Investing and Islamic Finance in general and sukuk in particular.

The presentation addressed new global and local insights on risk sharing, non-interest bearing, and asset-backed social investments of Islamic Finance, as well as the latest approaches to integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues in financing and investment decisions.
