Kuwait- Need To Probe Senior Officials'

(MENAFN- Arab Times) The parliamentary committee tasked to investigate alleged irregularities in the distribution of farming plots deems it necessary to refer all officials in charge of distribution at the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) to the Public Prosecution, reports Al-Rai daily. A source said these officials include acting Director General Nabilah Al- Khalil, stating the investigations revealed that the officials violated regulations on the issuance of occupancy certificates.

He hinted some people occupied farmlands whose documents have not been presented by employees in the sector. He explained the reason why the committee has not acted on the issue is that the report of the Fatwa and Legislative Department mentioned only 193 occupants out of 396 suspected of land grabbing. He added the committee members were appalled by the removal of many names from the list of suspects.
